What this guide covers: Diagnose the queue, spooler, connection, driver and printer status.
Start with the Zebra ZQ220 basics
Check the printer panel, paper path, consumables and connection before changing drivers. Send a small test document after each major change.
Check the Windows queue
Open Printers & scanners, select the ZQ220, and inspect pending jobs. Cancel a stuck job and retry.
Check the driver
If the printer is detected but jobs fail, verify that Windows has a compatible driver. Prefer Windows Update or the manufacturer's official support page.
Check the physical connection
For USB, test the cable and another port. For network printing, confirm the computer and printer can communicate on the same local network.
Model-specific checks
- Confirm the label stock is loaded in the correct orientation and the media width matches the printer settings.
- Check that the label printer is using the expected USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet or Wi‑Fi connection.
- Run the manufacturer's calibration routine when labels feed too far or stop between labels.
- Use the manufacturer's official driver and printer utility for the exact model.
